JROTC facility and Vasquez MS are done
The October update to the school board started with the announcement that Vasquez Middle School and the Permian High School JROTC facility are now considered complete. These are the eighth and ninth projects to be finished.
A lot is happening at the ATLAS Career & Technical Education Center. Exterior framing and sheathing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, fire sprinkler and storm water, and roof installation are all in progress.
Vasquez MS opened with the start of the school year but did not have use of the auditorium. The seating is now installed and training on the audio/visual systems took place last week. Final landscape work is taking place.

The Transition Learning Center is taking shape with interior and exterior framing installation done.
At the Ag Farm, electrical rough-ins and plumbing are continuing, and heaters are being installed in the barn.
With all demolition work finished, site renovation and construction scope are in the early stages at the new Transportation facility.
Roofing Package 2 encompasses five schools. Pre-construction meetings took place in late September; work has begun at Noel Elementary School. Cameron, San Jacinto, Crockett, and Ector are also in the package. Four schools will have plumbing renovations start this winter, and a dozen campuses are in line for rooftop HVAC replacements over the next few months.
Now three years since the successful bond election, more than 80% of the original $424 million has either been spent or is now designated for specific purposes.
