Survey will allow you to give suggestions for facility's name
Excitement is building as the opening of ECISD’s new career and technical education (CTE) center is just over a year away. It is time to consider giving the facility a more formal name.
The committee that will recommend a name for the CTE center met for the first time on December 18. That committee includes appointments from the District Continuous Improvement Team, Education Foundation, and ECISD Board of Trustees.Â
At the meeting, the committee reviewed the major Bond 2023 projects that are well underway, and took an extended look at the architect’s renderings of the new CTE center. The group saw some examples of other CTE centers’ names, began to brainstorm their own ideas, and looked at some potential logos that could visually represent the school’s careers-based focus.
Now it is your turn. We would like your thoughts and opinions on the name for the new CTE center. Here are the links to the surveys in English and Spanish. These can also be found on the ECISD homepage.

Committee members expressed their enthusiasm for being a part of this important process and their excitement in getting feedback from the community from the survey they helped design. This survey will be available throughout the holidays and into the new year. We ask Ector County residents to take the survey, then share it widely with family and friends. Committee members will discuss recommendations submitted before ultimately taking a recommendation to the school board.Â
A name is important. The right name invokes pride, strength, resilience and creates an identity for the students who attend there and even for our community. We are grateful for those helping us with this important step in the school's history.Â
